Hi there! Today we're going to see some definitions of the phrasal verb turn out. If you already know them, we have plenty of other posts that might interest you.
So, according to Oxford dictionary, there are many uses of this phrasal verb, and I'd like to point out the most common and used.
Turn out:
1. To be present at an event. Estar presente em um evento.
A vast crowd turned out to watch the parade.
Uma vasta multidão estavam presente para assistir o desfile.
2. To happen in a particular way, or to have a particular result, especially one that you did not expect. Acontecer de um modo particular, ou ter um resultado em particular, especialmente um que você não esperava.
It was a difficult time, but eventually things turned out all right.
Foi um momento difícil, mas eventualmente as coisas acabaram bem.
3. To switch a light off. Desligar uma luz.
Remember to turn out the lights when you go to bed.
Lembre-se de deligar as luzes quando for para a cama.
